September

The bramble bushes have been flowering throughout the summer and will continue to have flowers as the fruits develop into the familiar blackberry. Stand and watch the insects and spiders that live their lives on the brambles. You might be lucky and see a blackbird feeding either on the insects or on the fruit. You can often see thin wriggly white trails on bramble leaves, where tiny moth larvae have tunnelled within the leaves before pupating.
